HTC Holiday for AT&T gets caught again in the wild

We have to admit that the HTC Holiday looks in a much better shape in its pictures today, than the last time we spotted it. There are also a couple of screenshots to confirm the specs of the device. As far as the above mentioned are concerned, there is nothing which we don't know since the last time. One of the first LTE droids for AT&T will pack a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 4.5" screen with qHD resolution and LTE support.

Road Trip! Russia approves tunnel to Alaska under Bering Strait

The Russian government has given the go-ahead on an ambitious new tunnel project that could connect Siberia with Alaska via an underground rail line. If completed, the $65 billion project will be the longest underwater tunnel in the world, besting the Chunnel between England and France by twice the distance. The planned course would stretch over 65 miles and would snake beneath the Big and Little Diomede Islands. According to Inhabitat, the project will be funded by a private and public partnership.

ViewSonic to unveil budget ViewPad 7e tablet at IFA?

IFA 2011 is shaping up to be a pretty interesting event, what with Samsung supposedly announce a slew of new devices, and now it seems that ViewSonic will have something for those of you looking to purchase a tablet on a budget. ViewSonic will be unveiling the ViewPad 7e which they are touting as "affordable" and comes pre-installed with Amazon's Kindle software, so we're guessing that the tablet is aimed more towards those who prioritize the tablet as a substitute ebook reader, in place of Amazon's Kindle or the Nook.

Verizon HTC ThunderBolt 4G now just $0.01 with contract at Amazon

Verizon HTC ThunderBolt 4G now just $0.01 with contract at Amazon

The HTC ThunderBolt 4G was Verizon's first 4G LTE smartphone. Since its release, we've seen it discounted by Amazon a number of times. Prices ranged from $179.99 to $129.99 and even $99.99. However, Amazon now offers the ThunderBolt 4G for the best price of all: free.
Well, almost. You will have to pay one penny (so yeah, $0.01) for the device. But that's (literally) a small price to pay if you'd like to take advantage of great data speeds on your phone.

As you may have expected, you do have to agree to sign a new two-year contract with Verizon in order to get the phone at that price.

Want to see what HTC has been working on lately?  HTC Sense 3.5 just made its first appearance courtesy of a few screenshot from the HTC Bliss.  The latest version of Sense looks very similar to what HTC whipped up for the HTC Sensation and EVO 3D.  That's certainly good news for those with older phones since the HTC Bliss is powered by a single-core processor.  HTC claimed that Sense 3.0 was simply too much to handle for handsets not running dual-core processors.

[Poll] Are You Finally Settling on a Phone This Year?

[Poll] Are You Finally Settling on a Phone This Year?

I stuck with my G1 for a long time when it first came out, but that’s because I kinda didn’t have a choice – it was the only Android phone out. The HTC Hero, HTC Magic and the Motorola DROID – among various Samsung products – were all tempting offerings, but not enough to get me to switch carriers or pay for unsubsidized. I was even a bit skeptical about the Nexus One. Then the HTC EVO 4G came out. I paid $200 to get out of my contract and switched to Sprint for the phone.

Samsung may be gearing up to purchase HP's PC Division

According to “upstream vendors” in the PC component industry, the Korea-based company invited Taiwan-based notebook makers (and top HP notebook contractors) Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics and Pegatron Technology to its headquarters in South Korea earlier this month “with a rather cautious attitude.” Sources believe this meeting was an indication that Samsung might be preparing to expand its business with the acquisition of HP's Personal System Group. If Samsung does indeed purchase HP's PC division, then it would outsource a small volume of orders to these specific players.

The A77 has two very cool new features. First is Sony's new translucent mirror tech. This uses a pellicle mirror instead of the usual silvered glass panel, letting the light pass through to the sensor, whilst still allowing some (in an SLR) to be reflected up to the viewfinder.

The MCC and MNC pair is what uniquely identifies a mobile carrier.
