Apptopia Is A New Brokerage Website To Help Developers Sell Ownership Of Their Apps

Apptopia Is A New Brokerage Website To Help Developers Sell Ownership Of Their Apps

There's no question that mobile apps are a booming business and a new website called Apptopia wants to help developers captilize on this by selling their apps. And we're not talking about selling an app to users — we're talking about selling complete ownership of an app, handing over the reigns to a big company or business. “Apps are not just products that you buy for $0.99; they are complete businesses with revenues, customers, technology, and partners. A mobile app is an asset.”

Prospective buyers would then, after purchasing an app, get full access to the user's code to do with the app as they pleased.

Rolls-Royce sells out of million-dollar Year of the Dragon edition Phantoms in two months

Think the "standard" Rolls-Royce Phantom is expensive at $380,000. Try $1.2 million on for size. That's how much the latest special-edition Phantom was going for, but the astronomic price tag hasn't prevented the (*ahem*) Rolls-Royce of automakers from selling every last one. The model in question is the Year of the Dragon edition, which was first released just this past August.

The 2012 Avoider Study found that 43 percent of buyers who steer clear of a particular model due to quality concerns do so merely because of common knowledge. Ratings and reviews – our stock in trade – were cited by 38 percent, while previous ownership of a model caused scorn in only 14 percent of respondents.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be available at Mobilicity in Canada on February 6

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is already available almost everywhere in Canada. That said, if your carrier of choice is Mobilicity, you simply can't get one subsidized. At least not yet. Earlier this month, we have heard that the Galaxy Nexus was headed to Mobilicity too. At that point though the only detail about the when was the very vague “coming soon”. That's no longer the case.

As seen above, the carrier has let us know via Twitter that the newest Nexus device will be in its stores on February 6. The bad news is that we're still left guessing price points.

Consumer interest and profits didn’t pan out as the company had hoped, however, and Logitech quickly withdrew their name from the list of manufacturers producing Google TV hardware. To clear stock and recoup costs the ailing Revue saw a price cut to $99, and after one final holiday push Logitech is reporting that they are completely sold out at this time.

McLaren MP4-12C Spyder caught on camera with its top down

If you're going to make a mid-engined supercar, you've got to make a roadster version. You simply have to, and that's all there is to it. Ferrari does with the 458 Spider, just as it did with the F430, 360, 355 and 348 before it. Lamborghini does with the Gallardo. Audi does with the R8. And soon McLaren will with the MP4-12C. We know it will – it's just a matter of time. And now it appears that time is coming up soon.

Caught by in spy shots by Britain's Car magazine, the MP4-12C Spyder carries a folding solid roof mechanism – not unlike that found in the 458, but unlike the Ferrari's, does not hide the engine.

Chrysler considering entry into Australia's V8 Supercar series?

Chrysler considering entry into Australia's V8 Supercar series?

Wherever you find General Motors and Ford going at it, Chrysler is seldom very far behind. Except in Australia. The Land Down Under has its own unique touring car championship in the form of its popular V8 Supercars series, but the only contestants these days are Ford (with its FPV Falcon) and GM subsidiary Holden (with its HSV Commodore). That, however, could change in the near future.
Word on the Aussie street is that Chrysler Group Australia is entertaining the possibility of jumping into the popular series, likely with a vehicle based (however loosely) on the 300.

Snake '97 for the Lumia

Snake '97 for the Lumia

For old school Nokia fans, can you remember the game Snake. That was the Angry Birds of the day, and you could say the mobile gaming scene started off back then in 1997. While there is no way to play multiplayer Snake in the beginning, it is still a fun game to have a go as you jostle with your mates for top position when it comes to snagging the high score. Nokia has introduced Snake '97 for the Nokia Lumia, where it will recreate the old favorite on the phone itself.
The touchscreen display shows off a replica of the old school Nokia 5110, where the keys are located at the lower part of the screen.

Just in Q1, 2012 alone, Apple sold (not just shipped) 37 million iPhones, which is an astonishing figure whichever way you look at it. Compared to last year's figures, this year's figure is up by an amazing 128 percent. In the previous quarter, Apple managed to sell "just" 17 million iPhones, a number that has been bested by 117 percent, this quarter. This quarter's figure also eclipses Samsung's 35 million smartphone shipments (not sales) that they reported last quarter.

Go Faster celebrates the 70s heyday of race car liveries

According to Sven Voelker's book Go Faster, it was American driver Briggs Cunningham who ushered in the era of the "go-faster stripe" when he put two of them on his white Le Mans racer in the fifties. The next year, according to Voelker, stripes were everywhere, and so began the era of wild and memorable race-car liveries that would peak in the 70s and 80s. The surprise of the book is that the in the days before massive corporate sponsorship, color schemes weren't conjured by graphics departments. Usually, they came from the engineers and grease monkeys who built the cars.
