Samsung Within for Sprint gets spotted in the wild

Samsung Within for Sprint gets spotted in the wild

There is hardly any doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the king of droids so far this year. Logically, its official arrival in United States is highly anticipated. It looks however, that the wait might soon be over for the folks across the Atlantic. The Sprint Wireless version of the device, dubbed Samsung Within just got caught in a couple of blurry shots.
As you can see from the picture, the device is slightly curvier than the Galaxy S2 which we have come to know so well.

Zero waste Honda factories growing in number

Zero waste Honda factories growing in number

The next time you purchase a vehicle, make sure that it boasts great mileage in addition to being a hybrid mode of transport (or an all electric one if you want to go green all the way), in addition to making sure its factories follow the green path as well. You won't go wrong with Honda though, as the Japanese vehicle giant has made 10 of their facilities zero waste. Basically, they managed to trim 63 pounds of trash generated from each car made to just 1.8 pounds – now how did they manage to do it. Combined, Honda's 14 North American facilities send less than one-half of one percent of all operating waste to landfills.

When it comes to the world of tablets these days, it seems that the Android operating system has the most “fans”, as many hardware manufacturers have adopted the free operating system, hence helping keep the costs of the tablet device as low as possible. The iPad 2 from Apple needs no introduction, while the BlackBerry PlayBook is struggling although we do not have any concrete data on how the HP TouchPad would perform in the near term. What about Windows on tablet devices.

TSMC to start building Apple's A6 chips?

A new rumor has sprung up and this one is about Apple and their A6 chip. It seems that the rumors are indicating that Apple is currently experimenting with plans to make their A6 chip through TSMC. While Apple has traditionally gone to Samsung for the manufacturing of their chips, the recent legal battles may force Apple to start reducing their dependence on the Korean company. Not much is known about the A6 chip although some are speculating that it might be of the quad-core variety, which seems to make sense, especially with NVidia's Tegra-3 "Kal-El" SOC looking to be present in future Android devices.

I know it's only July but Griffin has plans to release this toy during the Christmas season. RC (remote control) hobbyists are probably thinking to themselves, aren't there better looking, more powerful helicopters that I can get. Sure there are, like the AR.Drone quad-copter, but it will set you back 240 GBP, while the Helo TC will only cost 34.99 GBP ($50).

Pandora ditches Flash, heading to the HTML5 highway

Looks like Adobe has lost yet another ally to the silky smooth allure of HTML5. Internet radio service Pandora has traded in the once ubiquitous Flash for the increasingly adopted web standard, citing, among other things, the ability to lop precious seconds off the site's load time. The upgrade is part of a major redesign for the service, said to have been inspired by the company's own iPad app. Hey hey, did I just see Steve Jobs smiling? Anyway, the old features are largely intact, but many, like Twitter and Facebook integration, have been revamped.

Intel says notebooks and tablets will be eradicated in a decade

In the near future, we won't have tablets, netbooks and notebooks. Well, at least that's what Intel says. But what will we humans be using. Or maybe, Skynet has already taken over the world.
During his keynote address at the SEMICON West conference in San Francisco, vice president of Intel's architecture group Rama Skukla said that the lines between a netbook, laptop and tablet are disappearing faster than today's designers can even realize.

Apple TV to have Bluetooth support in iOS5?

Did you know that your second-gen Apple TV has a Bluetooth radio hidden inside it. Wait, scrap that, did you know your second-gen Apple TV in fact can run 1080p contents. Right, let's get back at the Bluetooth radio issue. Until now, the only way to access it was with a little jailbreaking and some command line chops. That could all be changing though, with the release of iOS 5 this fall. 9to5Mac pulled some interesting code from the latest developer beta of iOS indicating that support for Bluetooth keyboards is coming to the Apple TV and, potentially, the ability pairs other devices as well.

Man creates world's only turbine-powered Batmobile

Having a real-life Batmobile in your driveway sounds like a fun idea. Upon closer inspection, however, it's not going to be that exciting. Most often, Batmobile replicas are powered by something like a junkyard-salvaged General Motors 350, featuring an interior reminiscent of a hastily cobbled together 24 Hours of LeMons racer. A man by the name of Casey Putsch decided he wanted a Batmobile to call his own, but he wasn't ready to settle for second-rate.
This particular Putsch is the same man behind Putsch Racing, an outfit that restore, designs and appraises all manner of items automotive.

Samsung Google Nexus S 4G now just $99.99 at Sprint

Price drops are everywhere right now. That's awesome news for those of you who are looking to buy a new phone, of course. It seems like there are many more price cuts and deals per day now than ever before. However, most of those usually come from third-party retailers, and not from the carriers directly. Most of the time, a carrier will stick with the launch price for a device even after many months have passed. It depends on the handset itself, its features, and how well it sells of course, but that's generally what happens.

Not so with Sprint's Samsung Google Nexus S 4G.

BioLite Stove Cooks Your Food and Charges Your Cell Phone

Back in the day, food was commonly cooked on stoves that used burning wood. Although it does its job, wood-burning stoves are not really known for efficiency: Heat is not evently distributed in the pot, you need to continuously fan the stove to keep the wood burning, and the smoke it creates contains high amounts of carbon monoxide that causes health risks to people who inhale it. To ease those problems, a company called BioLite has developed a wood-burning CampStove, which they intend to release in spring of 2012.
