ASUS Fonepad Review

ASUS Fonepad Review

ASUS announced its Fonepad at this year's Mobile World Congress as a 7-inch tablet which can also be used to make phone calls due to its 3G voice and data capabilities, although we'd certainly question the sanity of anyone who would hold a 7-inch tablet up to their ear on a regular basis. Whether or not you actually use its 3G to make phone calls, the Fonepad looks like it's a solid 7-inch tablet on paper as it features an HD screen which supports a resolution of 1280 x 800 with an IPS panel, a 1.2GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with microSD support and a 4270mAh battery.

Facebook Drops Sponsored Ads

Facebook Drops Sponsored Ads

Facebook did run into some issues concerning its advertisements in recent memory, where some advertisers have already pulled their ads from the social networking giant for reasons of their own. Facebook themselves have decided to also streamline their advertising offerings, and by doing this, they plan to phase out Sponsored Results. Basically, Sponsored Results are the ads that Facebook had served to users for searches. From July onwards, Facebook plans to stop offering the unit to advertisers, and later in July, Facebook users, too, will no longer see them (much to the relief of some users, of course).

Google Street View Gets 1,000 Plus More Destinations

Google Street View Gets 1,000 Plus More Destinations

So, I guess in the case of the Google Street View car that was pulled over by the authorities in Japan, it is just part and parcel of the Internet search giant doing their bit so that your Street View options would not remain limited. After all, with Microsoft recently having announced that they have introduced an additional 270TB worth of high resolution imagery into their Bing Maps, it makes perfect sense that Google themselves have not been holding back at all, and this time around, there is another 1,001 new destinations added to the Street View option.

Leaked Sony Xperia Z Ultra Picture Shows Off 6.44 Inch Display

Leaked Sony Xperia Z Ultra Picture Shows Off 6.44 Inch Display

This past week we have covered quite a few rumors about Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Apparently its a phablet, a smartphone with a massive display, that carries the “Togari” codename. Earlier today we posted some purported pictures of this device as well as some expected specifications. It is believed that this device will have a 6.44 inch full 1080p HD display and this particular picture posted above lends a little credibility to that assumption.
Sony is expected to announce the Xperia Z Ultra at an event in France on 4th July, for which it has already sent out invites to the media.

HTC One Mini Is the HTC M4

HTC One Mini Is the HTC M4

It seems that previous rumors concerning the HTC One Mini has proven to be true – that this particular smartphone was also given the codename "HTC M4". Hmmm, is it me, or is HTC following Samsung's footsteps by including the "Mini" suffix in their flagship device. After all, we have seen two successive Minis roll off from Samsung's production line – the Galaxy S3 Mini and the Galaxy S4 Mini. Having said that, the folks over at Engadget have managed to grab hold of a 4.3" HTC One Mini that seems to be, in their own words, "a more approachable (and affordable) version of the One", without and within.

Verizon Pulls Samsung Galaxy S3 Update Due To Connectivity Issues

Verizon Pulls Samsung Galaxy S3 Update Due To Connectivity Issues

Verizon owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 are in for a bit of bad news as it seems that the latest update for the phone, VRBMD3, which would have brought features like Multi Window to the phone, has been pulled by Verizon. The good news is that for those who haven't updated yet, you guys are safe because when Verizon released the update, almost immediately there were reports that the update caused a bit of problem for Galaxy S3 owners. An example would be the loss of 4G LTE connectivity with no way of making it return, leading to slow connection speeds and battery drain.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 launching in July?

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 launching in July?

Samsung unveiled its brand new Galaxy Ace 3 smartphone yesterday, without saying exactly when it would be available. But we're now seeing that it could happen in July - at least in the UK, where Carphone Warehouse plans to offer the handset starting next month. There's no word on how much the Ace 3 will cost, but it shouldn't be too much anyway.
The new Galaxy Ace 3 runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and features a 4 inch display with 800 x 480 pixels, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and MicroSD card support.

Microsoft Xbox One gaming roundup (hands-on)

Microsoft Xbox One gaming roundup (hands-on)

If you're looking for the Xbox One "showcase" demo of E3, Ryse: Son of Rome is probably it. It's a gorgeous display of fire, falling rubble, bloody combat and general Roman superiority. It's pretty fun, too. The deftly animated melee combat reminds us a little of Batman:Arkham Asylum, but with a more mature bent. After chopping away at a few enemies, players are presented with a kill sequence allowing them to follow a few on-screen button prompts to up the ante of the execution sequence. Once this sequence starts, your character is pretty much guaranteed to come out victorious. The challenge of Ryse is in mastering the gameplay.

Race Recap: Canadian F1 Grand Prix is one story with a thousand dramas

Race Recap: Canadian F1 Grand Prix is one story with a thousand dramas

The Canadian Grand Prix has the distinction of being historic, fun and a race that Infiniti Red Bull Racing has never won. After this weekend, we're looking at two out of three on that list. Qualifying was a greasy misadventure, with no one but Sebastian Vettel and three midfield drivers able to get through the sessions without at least one muck-up. In mixed conditions that saw just about every session get wetter, Vettel put Infiniti Red Bull Racing on pole position and, according to what we were told, didn't have too hard of a time doing it.

Rent-a-tire business inflating

Rent-a-tire business inflating

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that America's tire rental business is growing. Companies that previously specialized in rent-to-own wheels are now shifting their business to provide low-income drivers with rent-to-own tires. Customers can pay as little as $14 per month for new rubber, but may wind up paying as much as four times the retail price by the time all's said and done. While the first rent-to-own wheel and tire dealer surfaced in the mid '90s, the business has been expanding.

PlayStation 4 hands-on: DualShock 4 and games (video)

The next game we got to check out wasn't so much a game as it was a tech demo, known as The Playroom (a working title). It uses the DualShock 4 and Eye in a variety of very interesting ways. While the Eye tracks your controller via the light bar, you're able to flick up on the capacitive touchpad (which is very, very sensitive) and activate a menu to try out a variety of demos. The first one we checked out was "Play with Asobi," which has a little floating orb (a lot like Portal 2's Wheatley) floating around an interacting via the PS4 Eye.

Toyota reveals new customizable Camatte57s kid-friendly concepts

Toyota plans to follow up last year's kid-friendly Camatte concept with two new versions: the Camatte57s and Camatte57s Sport (right). Like the original Camatte, the two new concepts will make their debut at the International Tokyo Toy Show, which is happening this weekend. Not much has changed with these two new Camatte models. Like their predecessor, they both feature detachable body panels (the count is up to 57), a 1+2 seating array and reconfigurable pedals that allow children to operate the gas and brakes while Mom or Dad steers. What is new is an open-top roadster design that even eschews doors in favor of easier ingress/egress.

iOS 7: All The Details You Need On Apple's Newest iOS

iOS 7 has been rumored to introduce a drastic change to iOS for several weeks now, and Apple has finally unveiled what they have been spending months on, which did turn out to be quite the drastic change to its overall UI. Apple CEO Tim Cook calls iOS 7 the “biggest change to iOS since the introduction of the iPhone,” so let's take a look at just how big this change will be. iOS 7 Features A Completely New UI.
While the overall UI isn't exactly changed as you'll still access your lock screen, home screen and apps the same way, the way the iOS 7 UI presents these areas of your iOS device will be drastically different.

Xbox One Priced At $499, Ready For November 2013 Release

[E3 2013] Microsoft has just announced that the Xbox One would be arriving later this November (which is not too far away when you think about how fast time flies these days), retailing from $499 upwards, depending on the model of your choice. Certainly half a grand would not be too difficult to save up, and it sure as heck seems to carry far more value than previous holiday presents craze such as Furbies and the ilk. After all, who does not want to enjoy great looking launch titles like Halo on the Xbox One which runs in super smooth 60FPS, so much so that I am tempted to call it Project Butter, much to Google's chagrin.

2013 Ford Mustang V6

2013 Ford Mustang V6

Secretary Trim, Evolved. There was a time not so long ago when opting for a base Ford Mustang meant getting little more than some sheetmetal, an anemic four-cylinder engine and what may very well have been the world's most disappointing automatic transmission. During the Fox Body years, Ford seemed hell-bent on living up to Carroll Shelby's derogatory description of the coupe as little more than a runabout for demure office assistants, and the result was a base model with fewer sporting intentions than a Dilbert day calendar.
Some 20 years later, hopping behind the wheel of an entry-level pony is an entirely different experience.
