New Super Smash Bros. Will Not Have Story-Related Cutscenes

The Super Smash Bros. franchise is definitely a great game to play at parties or gathering with friends, and we're sure for the most part many of you guys probably skip the cutscenes and jump right into battle, but for those who actually enjoy the story-related cutscenes which have appeared in other Super Smash Bros. titles, unfortunately for you guys those types of cutscenes will not be making its way into the Super Smash Bros. title for the Wii U or 3DS.

Final Fantasy 7 Gets A 2D Makeover

Final Fantasy 7 Gets A 2D Makeover

Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 is old. It is old, but it is a classic and we're sure many gamers would love to see a HD remake of the game, so a 2D remake is hardly the direction we're sure some gamers were expecting. Thankfully this 2D remake is actually the work of a fan of the game, a certain Luke Brown who is an Australian web developer who has dedicated his free time to recreating Final Fantasy 7 in 2D glory. Brown stated that he does not plan to recreate every scene from the game in 2D, but he hopes that he will at least have the first mission complete in the near future.

Disney Tests Out Aireal Air-Flow Tactile Gaming Technology

Disney Tests Out Aireal Air-Flow Tactile Gaming Technology

When Nintendo first announced that the Nintendo Wii would feature motion control, Sony and Microsoft camps laughed at Nintendo, touting that this is just a gimmick that will die off pretty soon. I guess Nintendo did have the last laugh after all, where they pioneered the way ahead for home consoles to rely on some sort of motion control in the controllers themselves, with Microsoft went one up by introducing the Kinect system which will use your entire physical body as the game controller itself. Well, Disney intends to up the ante where gaming is concerned, by working on an experimental air-flow technology.

Confirmed: Android 4.3 updates for Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, SP, and Xperia Tablet Z

Sony is the first company to independently confirm future Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for non-Nexus devices. In a blog post written today, Sony has revealed that six of its most recent products would get Android 4.3 at some point. These are: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia SP, and Xperia Tablet Z. Of course, the 6.4 inch Xperia Z Ultra isn't even launched, so maybe it'll run 4.3 out of the box – at least in the markets where it's going to be released starting September (like the UK).

Meanwhile, the Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z will get Android 4.2 first - starting early August.

Alleged Display Panel For Nokia Phablet Leaks

Nokia has long been rumored to be working on a phablet of its own. We heard multiple rumors about such a device last month, when the rumor mill was constantly churning out information about the Nokia EOS smartphone. Up till now no confirmation has been given out by Nokia regarding its phablet plans. Nevertheless, a display panel that allegedly belongs to the Nokia phabet has leaked online. Its 6 inches in size and has a very thin bezel.

The picture appeared on Sina Weibo, China's equivalent of Twitter.

While Google has no qualms releasing their products as apps on Apple's iOS ecosystem, it seems that they aren't too eager at giving Microsoft's Windows Phone platform a helping hand. This has led to third-party alternatives, some of which are great, some not-so-great, but the good news is that if you've always wanted to show off your video captures made on your Nokia Lumia device, it seems that Nokia has created their own YouTube Upload app, and as the name suggests, it will allow Lumia owners to upload videos on their phone onto YouTube.

A recent Japanese survey breaks down some interesting data:. · · ·

HTC Zara has specs leaked, it's a One Mini with a bigger but lower-res screen and half the storage

This is the second year in a row in which HTC promises to focus on fewer, but better devices, and really support them and all that – and then promptly fails to deliver. Last year, it was apparently all going to be about just three devices: the One X, One S, and One V. Only then the Taiwanese company flooded the market with many other One variations, and even some Desire-branded smartphones too. This year, the message was once again clear – the One is the one. Oh, and there's also the Butterfly, but that's it. No, really. Yet in the meantime HTC launched a few new Desires, the One Mini, and the One Max is in the pipeline too.

It was at the beginning of this week when the Leap Motion gesture recognition device was made available to the masses, and while the first generation of software for the Leap does include its fair share of incredible programs, there are certain quarters out there who strongly believe that gesture recognition has a whole lot more potential than just to play some games. This has led to the release of DexType, where it is capable of changing the Leap Motion from an entertaining gadget into what is deemed as a genuinely useful tool, by being what it calls the world's first truly “virtual” keyboard.

Cadillac logo losing its wreath?

The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.

Apple testing larger screens for iPads and iPhones. 13″ iPad on the way?

Samsung apparently isn't the only company thinking about developing a tablet that's got a screen that's bigger than 10 inches. Apple wants in on the action too. Well, the Cupertino-based iDevice maker at least is actively testing bigger tablets. And bigger iPhones too. According to a report from the WSJ, citing the company's Asian suppliers, Apple has asked for iPhone screens larger than 4 inches (which is the size of the panel seen in the iPhone 5), and tablet screens coming in at a tad less than 13 inches.

This is all for testing purposes, at least at the moment.

Back in the day, computers and internet weren't as readily available as they are today, and kids such as myself spent our time outdoors, and games were usually of the board game variety as well, such as Monopoly, Cluedo, MAD, and etc. Well in a bid to help people stave off their internet addition, graphic design Pat C. Klein has come up with a Facebook board game concept that aims to persuade people to stop using the internet "forever". Of course we doubt that not using the internet forever is possible in today's society, but to curb our usage will probably be a more attainable goal.
