Stickteck DRUMMERZ Tablet Drumsticks review

Stickteck DRUMMERZ Tablet Drumsticks review

A few weeks ago the people at Stickteck approached me to see if I had any interest in reviewing their DRUMMERZ Tablet Drumsticks. Since I'm up for almost anything, I said sure and a few days later I found a set of specially made capacitive drumsticks in my mailbox. Are the DRUMMERZ a worthy set of sticks or are they only good for the novelty factor. Let's find out. Note: Images can be clicked to view a larger size.

First of all, I want to start out by saying that I'm not a drummer and I don't play one on TV.

Japanese Technology from the Future Friday!

Japanese Technology from the Future Friday!

This week it's JAXA & the ESA taking NASA stuff into space, Japan likes Apple's patents better than Samsung's, Toyota and Tesla made an electric baby RAV4, and the guy who invented DRAM got a Japanese medal and $500 Gs. · · ·.
Welcome to Japanese Technology from the Future Friday:
It's already Friday west of the international dateline - here in Japan, it's totally the future. The weekly JTFF is our somewhat technosnarky coverage of 2-5 particularly important, specifically Japan-related tech stories.

Yet another Samsung Galaxy Note III photo leaks

Yet another Samsung Galaxy Note III photo leaks

The Samsung Galaxy Note III seems to pose for every camera it sees – yet another photo of the upcoming flagship phablet hit the web and it shows off the Galaxy S4-like design. Unfortunately, the Note III was wearing a cover, we have yet to see the back of the device (there should be a 13MP camera on there). At least the new photo shows the side of the device, which unsurprisingly sports a silver strip with the Power/Lock key.
By all accounts, the screen of the Galaxy Note III should be a 6" Super AMOLED with 1080p resolution.

LG confirms the start of flexible display mass production in Q4. Is it good enough for iPhone 6?

LG confirms the start of flexible display mass production in Q4. Is it good enough for iPhone 6?

Flexible displays for your smartphone,  is the kind of technology that is just around the corner to be commercialized, but somehow never makes it to the actual product. However, the latest news coming from LG makes me think that this time flexible displays may be for real. And we will finally see commercial smartphones with them by the end of this year, or in the first half of 2014, at latest.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner (video)

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling.

2014 Fiat 500L

2014 Fiat 500L

Unexpectedly, This Opposite Attracts. Back in 2007 when the Fiat 500 was launched, I was unrepentantly nuts about the thing. From the first time my eyes clapped on the Nuevo Cinquecento at the Geneva Motor Show that year, I wanted one. Since there were no plans for a North American model at the time, I had to settle for purchasing a 1x18th-scale diecast at the expo. When Fiat finally returned to the US and the Cinquecento went on sale in 2011, I was no less excited.

And then I drove one, and the bloom was off my little Italian rose.

Dolphin Browser 10 brings new UI, web app store and more

Dolphin Browser 10 brings new UI, web app store and more

One of the original third-party Android browsers, Dolphin Browser, has hit version 10. You're probably expecting huge changes to go along with such a major milestone, and you'd be expecting right — this update is rather huge. For starters, Dolphin has undergone another UI refresh. It isn't a huge departure from what we're used to, but things are tighter, cleaner and neater all across the board.
Dolphin 10 also introduces a web app store, which gives you quick and easy access to various web apps that have been optimized for mobile devices.

The last year or two has seen a sea of change when it comes to the design of . Unless the developer has provided exceptional functionality, he can no longer expect success if the app doesn't look good. In the Design Love series, I'll share some of the best examples of the growth the platform has seen. So far, I wrote about Camera Zoom FX, Ovo Timer and Flib.
While I am not a fan of casual games, as I mentioned last week, every now and then a title comes that gets me addicted, at least for a little while.
