Sony's new 0.7-inch OLED microdisplay packs 720p resolution, has EVFs in its sights

Say howdy to Sony's ECX332A. Excited. We'll, if you're into shooting DSLR video using electronic viewfinders, you might be. This new OLED microdisplay measures in it a mere 0.7-inches, managing an HD resolution of 1280 x 720. As understood by OLED-Info, it features "the same white OLED and color-filters architecture" as the ECX331A (far left), which is the 0.5-inch, 1024 × 768 XGA variant Sony's implemented inside of the EVFs found on its NEX-5N and A77 cameras, among others. Notably, it'll likely be a pleasure to look through with a brightness level rated at 200 cd/m2 and a peppy response time of 0.01ms.

Gameloft Releases New Gameplay Trailer For Gangstar Rio: City of Saints [Video]

You may have seen the new trailer for GTAV and if you were drooling for a chance to take some thug life on-the-go, you may want to look to Gameloft. The mobile video game company with an almost infamous reputation for blatantly ripping-off some big console releases (I prefer to see it as “inspired”), has released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Gangstar Rio: City of Saints. Still no word on an official launch date for the game but from the looks of this new gameplay trailer, things seem to be coming along nicely. We’ll keep you updated.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Motorola Defy+ and LG Optimus Spirit announced by Telstra in Australia

Telstra, Australia's largest mobile operator, has announced no less than four new Android smartphones, all running 2.3 Gingerbread: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Motorola Defy+, LG Optimus Spirit, and the Telstra QWERTY Touch. Both the Motorola Defy+ and the LG Optimus Spirit are already available. The rugged Defy+ can be bought online here, while the Optimus Spirit (which is just a rebranded Optimus Net) can be bought here (it costs $149 on pre-pay).

HTC Rezound first press shots surface, we get ready for tonight

HTC Rezound has now leaked a couple of times but never did we get to see it under official studio lights. Now though, thanks to Pocketnow.com, we can see the Rezound much clearer than before. What we know so far is not much, really. The HTC Rezound will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 resolution S-LCD display and will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

At the back, the leaked pres pic reveals the 8MP camera with dual LED flash. Speaking of the back, the logo at the bottom of the cover suggests that the phone is going to feature the Beats Audio by Dr.

The first iPad will be named the iPad 2S, which will feature minor updates to the current iPad 2, just like how the 4S was to the iPhone 4.

Freestyle motorcycle riding in the French Alps film is gorgeous

Of the world's innumerable natural wonders, the French Alps are particularly spectacular. Stretching along the border between France and Italy, the mountain chain offers exceptional vistas and, for braver folk, incredibly challenging terrain. Freestyle trials rider Julien Dupont recently brought a few friends out for a day of playing in the mountains, and Ride the World Productions tagged along to film the whole event. The camera crew spent some time playing with its own toys, including a camera-equipped Air Drone remote-control helicopter.

American Expedition Vehicles has broadened its Jeep Wrangler pickup conversion offerings with the new Brute Double Cab. Offered as a turn-key conversion, the vehicle features a combination of stamped-steel and composite body panels for an OEM-level fit and finish. Using a combination of structural adhesive and welding, AEV says it has managed to reduce noise and vibration in the cabin and ensure the longevity of the build. Lomokino ‘Video' Camera Shoots Lo-Fi Movies on Film

Lomo now does moving pictures. What next. Talkies. Lomo, the company that resurrected its light-leaking, plastic fantastic 35mm film cameras from Soviet-era Russia, has now added a movie camera to its lineup.

Called the Lomokino, the hand-cranked camera also shoots on 35mm film, and thanks to its low framerate and non-full-frame captures, it manages to squeeze 144 frames onto a single 36-exposure roll. That's enough for about 50 seconds of shooting.

Looking at the results, its clear that Lomo hasn't skimped on making the image quality as bad as in its stills-snapping cousins.

Apple Lawsuit Fails Against NT-K

In the patent war that Apple is waging against a number of competitors, there are victories and defeats. Today is certainly a day of defeat as the NT-K tablet (from a Spanish manufacturer Nuevas Tecnologías y Energías Catalá) has won in court and is now seeking damages from Apple, which had previously successfully blocked the NT-K tablet sales. Interestingly, the NT-K creators say that they were not the only target of Apple's lawsuit, but that others have preferred giving up rather than defend themselves.

2012 Ford Focus Electric priced from $39,200*

The 2012 Ford Focus Electric showed up on the company website's configurator this morning with a base price of $39,200 before state and federal incentives, plus an additional $795 for destination charges. That brings the total base starting price of the Focus Electric to $39,995. Factor in a maximum federal tax credit of $7,500 and the price falls to a more palatable $32,495. For comparison's sake, the 2012 Nissan Leaf features a base starting price of $35,200 plus $850 for destination charges.

. A recent report from Juniper Research suggests that the mobile coupon market will be worth $46 billion by 2015, a large jump from the $5.6 billion projected for the industry this year. HTC Flyer Now Available for T-Mobile

An FCC filing from June promised that the HTC Flyer would be headed to T-Mobile, but the tablet never surfaced for the magenta network. No in plain sight, anyway. T-Mobile has apparently been offering the Flyer to business customers for the past few weeks, but sales have opened up to all through HTC's website. T-Mobile's site still doesn't list the tablet and no official release announcement was made, which is odd.

Superminis are big business for European automakers, and Peugeot has just released its latest salvo in the form of its new 208. Available in both three- and five-door body-styles, the 208 represents a complete overhaul of the French carmaker's core model. Its wheelbase is the same as the 207 it replaces, but while overall exterior dimensions have shrunken, Peugeot says interior volume has increased.

LG: Rumors of LG Optimus 2X Not Receiving Ice Cream Sandwich Are Not True

LG today took to Facebook to inform everyone that some of the rumors they've bee hearing were false. The rumor was that the Optimus 2X – one of the first Tegra 2 phones and dual-core phones period – would not be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. According to them, that's not true. They have reassured everyone that they are certainly planning on bringing Ice Cream Sandwich to not only the Optimus 2X, but to 0ther high-end phones of theirs.

Like other OEMs, LG can't confirm a rollout window until Google drops the public source.

Lenovo posts Q2 earnings, sees increase in profits, shipments and market share

The quarterly earnings stats just keep rolling in today - this time, from Lenovo, which has just posted yet another stellar report. According to the company, profits for the second quarter of this year reached $145 million, marking an 89 percent increase over the same period last year. Consolidated sales, meanwhile, rose by 35.8 percent to a record $7.8 billion, giving Lenovo a worldwide quarterly market share of 13.5 percent, also its highest ever. Laptops, not surprisingly, were at the forefront of this surge, accounting for 57.5 percent of the company's total revenue, with PC shipments rising 35.4 percent over the year.
