Boxwood Storage Tubes – Store your smalls in wooden tubes

I have a storage fetish. I like little metal tins, boxes, pouches, etc. When I saw these Boxwood Storage Tubes in a Lee Valley catalog that came in the mail the other day, I knew I'd be placing a order. These screw top wooden tubes are made in France by a family known for their wood turning skills. They are light weight and come in 2 sizes which are priced at $3.95 – $4.95 each.

Microsoft Surface Expanding To Major Retailers Soon [Rumor]

Microsoft Surface Expanding To Major Retailers Soon [Rumor]

Microsoft's Surface RT tablet proved to be a success in terms of hardware and design, but one major setback is its availability. As you know, Microsoft is only the sole seller of the tablet via its own retail stores, which is probably around 20 in the U.S. Detwiler Fenton, a Boston-based brokerage firm says that the lack of distribution is killing the product. “Mixed reviews and a [$499] starting price tag certainly don't help, but lack of retail exposure at Best Buy and others is severely depressing sales,” the firm said.

Bugatti by Venet is the world's fastest art

Bugatti by Venet is the world's fastest art

Some consider the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport to be a piece of rolling art, while others consider the real masterpiece to be the engineering feats to be what lies underneath. Impressively, French artist Bernar Venet has managed to combine these two notions in one dramatic special edition model: the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Venet. Venet, whose works can be found everywhere from New Zealand to Versailles, confessed that he initially thought it unnecessary to alter what he already considered a work of art. The French painter and sculptor drew inspiration from Bugatti's engineering equations that led to the development of the Veyron.

Microsoft Research's CO-GPS Delivers Better GPS With Improved Battery Life

We all know that using a device that has GPS navigational capabilities would drain the battery life of said device at an incredible rate, but sometimes, that is a necessary evil, especially when you are constantly on the road and need to get around in an unfamiliar territory. The reason behind it is this – GPS eats up your battery fast because of the sheer amount of information that it has to receive before computing and processing it, resulting in your location.

Dynamic D*Haus Changes Shape Accordingly

Unless you are living in an actual Transformer, chances are the abode where you find shelter and respite from after each grueling day at the office would be largely static, other than the times when you have saved enough to perform a renovation of the entire place. For folks who live in countries with seasonal temperature changes, the way your home stands up to the weather will definitely play a role in the kind of comfort level you experience throughout the year.

T-Mobile reportedly ending carrier subsidies in 2013

Folks, if you love how you could pick up a relatively inexpensive phone from T-Mobile thanks to the carrier offering a subsidy for the device, come 2013 it looks like that will no longer be happening. According to the folks at Fierce Wireless, they are reporting that T-Mobile will be removing device subsidies from their rate plans starting in 2013. This does not mean that you will have to pay full retail price – well actually you will, but  T-Mobile has structured it in such a way that your upfront payment would basically be the equivalent of a subsidized device, i.e.

2014 Lexus IS prototype

2014 Lexus IS prototype

No one was comparing the IS to the BMW 3 Series, and for Lexus that was a problem. In our review of that car, we wrote that the only other sporty Lexus was the IS, and that our favorite among its rank and file is the IS 250 with the six-speed manual. Specifically, we called it "a spirited little weakling of a car." Down on power but also on weight, it rewarded commitment and skill – it didn't have the gumption to compensate for missed shifts and bad lines, and because it was so easy to get wrong, the momentum carried through right to the smiles when you got it right.

Haggerty profiles Sandy survivors and their classic cars

Haggerty profiles Sandy survivors and their classic cars

One of the harsh realities encountered by some in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy is the damage done to their beloved classic cars. Such a story may not make it to CNN, so Hagerty Insurance set about chronicling the efforts by several owners to preserve their classics during the storm. One owner from Staten Island lost a 1977 Ford F-250 Custom pickup. He tried desperately to save his truck, attempting to start it as the waters rose around the vehicle. At one point, he says the water started pouring into the truck. It eventually became impossible to open the doors, and had to crawl out the window.

Lenovo Yoga Review

Lenovo Yoga Review

. Windows 8 is an operating system that's a mix of the old and new: it cobbles together a very forward-facing touchscreen interface with the same old Windows we've loved (in its basic form) since before the internet was a thing. And computer manufacturers  attempting to reconcile these two computing paradigms, have taken to the new OS in one of two ways: some have installed the new operating system on ultrabooks and other established laptop form factors, while others have gone crazy–two screens. Or, screens with hinges! Or, tablets with very well-designed keyboard cases.

Nokia Lumia 620 announced, looks to be an affordable Windows Phone 8 device

The smartphone market is currently being dominated by both iOS and Android, although we're pretty sure that customers out there might be fed up with either and are looking for an alternative. With Blackberry 10 only available in 2013, it looks like Windows Phone could be an option but adopting a new platform might be a risk not everyone is willing to take, or pay for. Well the good news is that if you were thinking about hopping on board the Windows Phone bandwagon, Nokia has announced the Lumia 620, a phone which the Finnish company is calling their most affordable WP8 handset to date.

RIM to launch BBM Money in Indonesia, allows the sending of money through BBM

It looks like RIM is hoping to expand the capabilities of its BBM platform beyond mere text messaging, and over in Indonesia the Canadian company has announced that they will be launching BBM Money. In case the name itself wasn't obvious or didn't give away any clues, BBM Money is RIM's expansion of its BBM platform which will now allow BBM users to send other BBM users money, making it a pretty useful and convenient tool to conduct transactions on the go. The money sent to users can then be withdrawn via bank cash machines which sounds like a pretty straightforward solution.

This was first reported by the website LiveSide, who discovered references to the music player feature within the codes of SkyDrive.com, as seen above. “We had been digging around some of the codes in the current version of SkyDrive.com, and noticed references related to a SkyDrive music player,” LiveSide writes. While most of the automotive world has been focused on The City of Angels for the LA Auto Show, BMW snuck in an opportunity to shoot its new 2014 3 Series Gran Turismo just a couple miles away from the LA Convention Center, and give us our first undisguised look at the upcoming hatchback. We've seen camouflaged test mules for the 3 Series GT in the past, and while we had expected the car to debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, it now sounds like the car will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Nokia Unveils Cheap 114 Dual-SIM Handset

Nokia Unveils Cheap 114 Dual-SIM Handset

For some reason, Nokia has discreetly posted a new handset on its website, and it is called the Nokia 114. Perhaps the Finnish phone maker realized that this phone needs no special introduction, as it is basically a simple handset that costs way cheaper than its the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. But in spite of that, the Nokia 114 has managed to feature dual-SIM capabilities. The Nokia 114 sports a tiny 1.8 inch display with a 160 x 128 resolution. It comes with a Nokia browser, Nokia, Facebook , Twitter, and Windows Live Messenger.
