Hyundai, Kia recall 270,000 cold-weather state vehicles over rust

Hyundai has announced plans to recall 240,000 Sonata and Azera models registered in the northern United States over corrosion caused by the use of road salt. Exposure to the salt can cause rust to form (we know, basic chemistry here), and that the corrosion can change the alignment of the rear wheels, according to Reuters.

Turtle Beach Call Of Duty: Ghosts Limited Edition Headsets Pricing Revealed

Earlier this year at E3, the showfloor had plenty of "stars", and it can get pretty difficult trying to filter out all of the "noise", which is why it is always important to have someone on the ground to do the running and figure out just what is cool to share with the masses. Headsets come and go, but sometimes, there are just some limited edition versions of a particular device that deserve special mention – case in point, the Call of Duty: Ghosts limited edition headsets that hail from Turtle Beach.

'Latest production version' of Porsche 918 shown off on Twitter [UPDATE]

Porsche posted a picture of what it is calling "the latest production version" of the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder on Twitter. It looks like the gasoline-hybrid supercar is being driven sportively on some California back roads during Monterey Speed Week. Whatever updates were made to this version aren't visual (except for the paint), as the one Chris Harris drove last spring and another seen hot-weather testing in Nevada both had production bodies.

Gordon Murray's T.25 and T.27 microcars headed for production

Ever since superstar engineer Gordon Murray left McLaren after years spent heading the company's motorsports efforts, designing the McLaren F1 supercar and, later, building the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren supercar, he has been hard at work designing two novel city cars. The T.25, powered by a three-cylinder petrol engine, and the T.27, an electric vehicle, have been seen in prototype forms a handful of times over the past few years, but Murray has announced on his blog that his company, Gordon Murray Design, has sold the T.25/T.27 concept to an unnamed customer who will begin producing the cars in 2016.

Sprint gets exclusive on the red HTC One, launching tomorrow alongside BOGO deal

Sprint gets exclusive on the red HTC One, launching tomorrow alongside BOGO deal

When talking about the blue HTC One, the one that's rumored to be a Verizon exclusive, we usually mentioned the fact that red would have made a lot more sense for that carrier – after all, it is its brand color. But Verizon couldn't get the red HTC One, because Sprint had already made it an exclusive. And that's become official today. Furthermore, the red HTC One will be available at Sprint as soon as tomorrow, which means that the Samsung Ativ S Neo won't be the only new device launching this Friday. The red HTC One is just a red HTC One, so absolutely nothing has changed in terms of specs – just the hue.

BMW M4 Concept beckons the new golden child of M cars

Ushering in the next-generation of two-door M performance cars for BMW, the new M4 Concept was officially unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance last night after an unceremonious embargo leak yesterday afternoon. The reality of the fact that we will never again have a new M3 Coupe is a little easier to deal with after browsing the M4 Concept's sleek and sporty lines. As was the case with the Concept 4 Series Coupe, we expect the this M4 to transition from concept car to production coupe with very few changes.

Watch thieves called 'sliders' snatch purses at gas pumps [UPDATE]

Watch thieves called 'sliders' snatch purses at gas pumps [UPDATE]

Where I grew up, on the Lake Michigan shore in a little town called Holland, I basically never locked the doors on my first two cars. With the notable exception of my older brother stealing my car from our high school parking lot, so he didn't have to burn his own gas (I still own you for that, Aaron), there just didn't seem to be cause to worry about a locked door. To this day, in some of the more genteel areas of the country, I have friends and relatives who leave keys in the ignition pretty much permanently, as losing a key is far more likely than having a car stolen.

Microsoft Making 'Unique' Xbox One Announcement During Gamescom

Microsoft recently performed another 180 as they had previously been adamant about the Xbox One requiring its Kinect sensor in addition to its bundle price of $499, to then announce the Xbox One will continue to function if it doesn't have a Kinect sensor plugged in. This leaves those potential Xbox One owners to question what they're going to do with their unused Kinect sensors. Well – Microsoft has announced they are planning to hold a “unique” Xbox One presentation at Gamescom this year that may answer that very question.

This is according to a WPCentral reader who went to a Sprint store to check on the status of the device.

Sony PS3 12GB Model Could Arrive Stateside

Sony PS3 12GB Model Could Arrive Stateside

It was in September last year when we first heard of Sony rolling out a PS3 model that carried a far more affordable price tag, as the internals have been changed, sporting 12GB of flash memory instead of a massive hard drive. That particular model was marketed exclusively in Europe and Hong Kong only, and there were no indications of it arriving in the US. Of course, that omission was no big deal, really, since 12GB of storage space is not going to do much for folks who happen to have spent the past few years building a relatively large games library.

Significance of dash-to-axle explained

Significance of dash-to-axle explained

Now that we all know what the automotive design terminology Tumblehome means, Autoline Daily's Jim Hall is back for another lesson from the Design Handbook. This time around, he focuses on explaining one of the most commonly used terms to bash front-wheel-drive cars, the dash-to-axle ratio. Technically speaking, dash-to-axle measures the distance between the A-pillar (also the leading edge of the dash) and the front axle. In terms of vehicle design, a shorter dash-to-axle ratio has become a staple of front-wheel-drive cars due to the placement of the engine and transmission under the hood.

NVIDIA SHIELD software update rolling out now, fixes audio lag when game streaming and other bugs

Owners of the NVIDIA Shield are being greeted with yet another over-the-air update, this time in the form of a 402.6MB software update to address audio latency issues. Apparently some users have been reporting audio that was delayed and not syncing properly with the visuals when game streaming from a GeForce equipped PC. Aside from the usual bug fixes and enhancements, this update 51 should patch up that audio problem nicely. When it comes to niche devices like the NVIDIA Shield, prompt software updates help ease our concerns that the device would suffer in the support department.

Sony "Lens-Cameras" For Android And iOS Devices Rumored

Sony apparently has something under the covers that will change how we take pictures through our Android and iOS devices. Called “Lens-Cameras,” these two contraptions are reportedly able to snap on to a mobile device, connect with it wirelessly either through Bluetooth or NFC and then be controlled via that device. The models, DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100, are said to have built-in sensors, Bionz processor as well as a SD card slot. No usual camera controls are present since the “Lens-Cameras” are controlled entirely from the mobile device they are magnetically attached to.

iPhone 5S could have dual-LED flash. Fingerprint sensor issues to affect initial production volumes

The next iPhone, which everyone refers to as the iPhone 5S, will probably be announced by Apple on September 10. Whether or not it will be joined on the market by the oft-leaked cheaper iPhone 5C remains to be seen, but in the meantime the rumors about the 5S are still pouring in. Take the phone's camera flash, for example. Thanks to a new leak of what are purported to be iPhone 5S components, we now know to expect this to be the first ever iPhone to sport a dual-LED flash. This should ensure better lighting when using the flash, obviously, even if it won't get even close to the light levels achieved by ‘proper' Xenon flashes.

While BlackBerry might have had good market share back in the day, it is safe to say that the company is struggling against its competitors like iOS, Android, and even Microsoft's Windows Phone in certain regions. It is not clear if introducing newer products will be able to turn things around for them, but one thing is certain and that is something needs to be done.

Zero Motorcycles is recalling 268 of its electric motorcycles due a faulty mounting bolt on the front brake caliper, which is prone to corrosion. Were the bolts to fail or fracture, the caliper could come loose and that could stop the front wheels. This, of course, would be very bad news at anything more than a few miles per hour.
