Mercedes teases AMG Vision Gran Turismo virtual supercar ahead of Gran Tursimo 6 debut

Mercedes teases AMG Vision Gran Turismo virtual supercar ahead of Gran Tursimo 6 debut

With the SLS AMG going away, Mercedes could be looking to the virtual world for a supercar replacement. The Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo was designed specifically for the Gran Turismo 6 video game, which will go on sale next month, and the automaker has released a teaser picture of the car on its Facebook page. More information about this car will be released tomorrow morning, but we can't help but wonder if there might be any production design implications – as is usually the case with Mercedes' Vision concepts.

2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series (video)

2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series (video)

The biggest misconception about the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is that it's simply a higher-performing version of the SLS GT - a closer look, or better yet, a few hot laps on a high-speed racing circuit, reveals that is anything but the case. Launched in the States in mid-2011, the standard SLS GT is a 583-horsepower, all-aluminum, gull-wing coupe with performance that positions it near the top of the exotic segment. While the AMG team at Mercedes-Benz could have left it alone, their experience with the SLS AMG GT3 race car said there was room for improvement, so they devised the SLS Black Series.

Next Polestar Volvo sounds great, whatever it is

Next Polestar Volvo sounds great, whatever it is

Something – we don't know what yet – is coming from Polestar. While we'll be recovering from next week's LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show (and starting to slack off ahead of an extended Thanksgiving weekend), the official tuner of Volvo products has announced plans to unveil its latest creation in less than two weeks. Based on this video teaser, we can only imagine (and hope) that it's the souped-up Volvo V60 recently caught testing by our spy shooters. The idea of a high-performance Volvo wagon was already enough to get us giddy last month, but the exhaust note in this video is downright captivating.

Samsung Galaxy NX review: an overpriced Android-powered mirrorless camera

Hardware. There are two systems to consider when evaluating the Galaxy NX's hardware: the 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and DRIMe IV image processor, and the 1.6GHz quad-core Pega-Q chipset that keeps the Jelly Bean (4.2.2) operating system purring at an entirely usable pace. The NX is first and foremost a camera, and it's a powerful one at that, and smartphone chips, like WiFi, LTE and HSPA+ radios, and a virtually unlimited array of apps, transform this otherwise ordinary mirrorless model into a robust connected beast.
Shape and size aside, the NX is aesthetically more akin to a smartphone or tablet.

Vilner redoes '76 Corvette Stingray to show off interior prowess

From modern cars to classics and even motorcycles, Vilner has been showing off its leather customization skills for years, but we have to admit we were a little skeptical when we saw that the Bulgarian company had gotten hold of a 1976 Chevy Corvette Stingray. Not to say the C3 'Vette couldn't benefit from an interior makeover, but we wondered how the company's modern leather work would match up with the car's classic styling. In terms of leather crafting, Vilner went crazy inside this Corvette with nappa leather (from a calf) from top to bottom including everything from the seats to the t-tops.

Lytro Announced Lytro 3D Software Update

The Lytro camera was announced a couple of years ago and for those unfamiliar with the camera, it's basically a device that takes the effort out of focusing on photos. Instead the camera allows users to capture the image or moment first, upload the image onto their computer and through Lytro's accompanying software, will allow them to select which areas of the photograph they'd like the focus to be placed at. This is great for moments that you want to capture, but don't want to spend the next 5-10 minutes trying to figure out the best area to focus at.

The iGrillmini from iDevices is a meat thermometer with an attached probe. Nothing new there right. But pair it with your iOS device and now you have a smart thermometer that you can remotely check the temp of the meat cooking outdoors on your grill. The iGrillmini conveniently mounts to your grill or smoker with a magnet. If you have a smoker or grill that isn't magnet-friendly, that's not a problem as the iGrillmini comes with an optional magnetic disk to stick onto your grill or smoker. When you are within range, the Smart LED illuminates to show cooking status.

Cyanogen Inc to bring official CyanogenMod phone with 2.5GHz Snapdragon "8974AC" [RUMOR]

We're not quite sure what to make of this just yet, but here it is anyway: there's an official CyanogenMod phone coming, and it's going to be unlike anything else on the market right now. Trusted sources have revealed to Phandroid that the smartphone will house a mysterious 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapragon “8974AC” processor, which would indicate it's only a slight bump from the MSM8974AB (Snapdragon 800 family) that currently pushes 2.4GHz of power (which is already sitting inside upcoming smartphones such as the Xiaomi MI3). The phone “Steve” always wanted.

Uh-oh — it looks like Google could be in hot water with the many people using VPN for corporate connections. A bug has been discovered in Android 4.4 that could result in high amounts of packet loss, unusually high CPU load on host machines, and more. Cisco identified and submitted the bug to Google, offering up the following explanation:. Due to a bug in Android 4.4 (KitKat) reported to Google under Issue #61948, AnyConnect users will experience High Packet Loss over their VPN connection (users will experience timeouts when attempting to access certain network resources).

Quality issues drive resignation of Hyundai R&D president

Hyundai released a statement Monday announcing that its research and development president, Kwon Moon-sik, and two other executives resigned from their positions, Reuters reports, to "take responsibility for a series of quality issues," according to the statement. The resignations seem to be related to recent recalls around the globe. A few weeks back, Hyundai recalled 27,500 Genesis sedans from model years 2009 to 2012 in the US for brake fluid that doesn't prevent corrosion of the electronic hydraulic control unit.

Android 4.4 KITKAT might take a while to officially come to the world's top devices, but aftermarket firmware — AKA ROMs — will likely bring the goods we're looking for much sooner. While we can't quite possibly put a finger on every ROM out there, we do have an idea of when some of the most popular ones will be pushing the latest version of Android. Let's take a look. CyanogenMod

The folks at CyanogenMod are still working to bring us final, stable builds of Android 4.3 in the form of CM 10.2. The team has already gotten their first “M1″ build out, which is a milestone release that users can begin to report bugs on.

Pioneer To Re-Enter TV Market

More than four and a half years ago, we brought you word that Pioneer had already announced that they were ready to throw in the towel where its TV business was concerned. It does seem as though the company is about to perform a U-turn on their decision, as Pioneer recently announced that they will make a return to the TV market, although on a far smaller scale. This re-entry into the TV market would come in the form of it being an exclusive brand for Dixons.

Microsoft Takes A Closer Look At The Xbox One In New Trailer

Earlier this morning, Sony published quite the unboxing video for its PlayStation 4 which we certainly would like to see done by other consumer electronics companies in the future. Not to be outdone, Microsoft has also published a new video for its Xbox One, although the purpose of the video, called Xbox One: Revealed, is more to show a closer look at the next-generation console's hardware. . Both the Xbox One and the new Kinect get some serious time in the new trailer, with the former getting looked at across multiple angles, leaving nothing to the imagination.
