It is an established fact that smartphones in Japan tend to work only in Japan, although there has been exceptions to the rule in the past. Still, majority of them would not work too well outside of the Land of the Rising Sun, and some of these handsets have even achieved cult status such as Fujitsu's F-Series handset being the phone of choice for adulterers. Having said that, some of the more advanced handsets in Japan do support Full Seg digital TV capability, which virtually allows you to catch up on your favorite TV shows no matter where you are in Japan, as long as there is a signal, I suppose.

Huh. Will you look at that. It's not breaking news by any means, but only a few minutes ago Google updated the device page of the Play Store with only a very small change to their Nexus 4 listing. Previously, the caption describing the Nexus 4 read “the best smartphone.” While that statement is definitely up for debate, today they've now updated the listing to read, “the first Google smartphone.”.
At first glance it would appear they didn't want to step on anyone's toes, after all, HTC and Samsung who are sharing the same page with the Nexus 4. Then again, “first” doesn't make much sense either.

Now, another image of the Xiaomi Mi3 has been leaked. The source that leaked the images of the Xiaomi Mi3 prototype suggests a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is a nice upgrade over the previous edition of the Xiaomi that sported a 4.3-inch 720p display.
If the rumors are to be trusted, the Xiaomi Mi3 will feature 3 GB of RAM, which will put in on par with upcoming flagship from top-tier manufacturers.

Verizon HTC One clears FCC - retail availability imminent

The Verizon HTC One has been given the “all clear” from the FCC. The FCC documentation list the device as the PN07310 which features Verizon-friendly radios for LTE (band 13), GSM (850x1900) and CDMA (850x1900), NFC, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.  Now that all the official work is done, there's really nothing keeping Verizon from launching the device. Since the HTC One on T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T are all currently running Android 4.1, it would be in Verizon's best interest to get the phone to market (which is expected to run Android 4.2.2 at launch) before the other US variants start to receive the same update.
