Ralph Gilles talks about SRT's mission

All it takes is a moment or two pondering Chrysler's high performance SRT lineup to put a smile on our faces. After all, the entire lineup was given a makeover in the past few months, complete with a new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that pumps out 470 pavement-punishing horsepower. Newly named SRT brand CEO Ralph Gilles is lucky enough to have the best seat in the house to oversee the development of the brand. Gilles sat down in front of the cameras to talk SRT, and the good folks at Chrysler popped the results into YouTube for your enjoyment. Hit the jump to check out the moving pictures.

How to build a Ferrari 458 Italia's body frame

As far as autoworker jobs go, putting together a Ferrari has got to be one of the plum gigs. The company is consistently rated as one of the best places to work in Europe, but if the pleasant atmosphere and long espresso breaks weren't enough, you get to go home at the end of the day knowing that you put together a Ferrari. Not a pickup truck, not an economy hatchback, but a Ferrari. Unfortunately for most of us, that job isn't really feasible, but to give us a glimpse at what we're missing, Ferrari is apparently releasing a series of videos showing us what it's like inside its factory.

A tipster sent in what looks to be a video of a forthcoming HP all-in-one. The TouchSmart 520 is a slim device, propped up by two "sweeping support arms," which allow the PC to be adjusted, much like in past models. Not a lot of specs to go on at this point, though the system does sport a "high definition display" and souped up audio courtesy of Beats.

Nvidia Has A Bright Future Ahead Of Them And It's All Thanks To Android

Looks like Nvidia is doing alright for themselves these days and it's all thanks to Android. Okay, to be fair, it also has a little to do with a mobile chip they like to call the Tegra 2. Nvidia's forecast for their 3rd quarter revenue earnings is higher than what many analysts were expecting. Nvidia expects a 4%-6% revenue growth for Q3, putting their revenue somewhere around $1.06 billion mark.
The Tegra 2 appears in about 10% of all Android devices being shipped these days, thanks largely in part to Google choosing the Tegra 2 the chipset of choice for Honeycomb tablets.

Used cars commanding record prices, sometimes cheaper to buy new

Used cars commanding record prices, sometimes cheaper to buy new

Just a couple years after U.S. auto sales plunged to their lowest levels in decades, dealers are finding an industry-wide shortage of used vehicles. This lack of used inventory has driven up the price of scarce pre-owned vehicles on lots, sending more and more consumers into aggressively priced new vehicles. One economist says as many as 500,000 people who intend on purchasing used will instead take delivery on new vehicles by mid-2012. This phenomenon wasn't completely unexpected.

Cadillac Converj gets production green light again?

Unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, the Cadillac Converj concept is perhaps General Motors most on-again, off-again vehicle in recent years. Based on the Chevrolet Volt, the Converj is a plug-in hybrid coupe with chiseled lines and a Wreath and Crest badge. This production/non-production saga continues with Green Car Reports claiming "an inside source at General Motors" has confirmed the Converj is back on, meaning Cadillac is gearing up to launch the plug-in hybrid in 2013 or 2014.

New BlackBerry phones arriving on Sprint – August 21st

Want to know how much you'll be forking out if you plan to get the one of the next generation BlackBerry devices. Thanks to the folks at BGR who managed to get their hands on an upcoming Sprint flier, we now have the prices for the phones when they go on sale later this year. The BlackBerry Bold 9930 will be priced at $249.99, while the BlackBerry Torch 9850 will be $149.99 - both with a 2-year contract on Sprint. While $150 for the Torch seems nice, paying an additional hundred for the Bold seems pretty steep, even though it is RIM's flagship device after all.

Dell Streak 5 reaches end of the road

Dell has stopped selling their Streak 5 tablet/smartphone hybrid – I guess it was a little bit too large to be used as a smartphone on a comfortable basis, while it remained too small to offer a decent tablet experience. The Streak 5 was actually launched in 2010 as Dell's first Android-powered device, sporting a generous 5″ touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution with the ability to make and receive calls just like a standard smartphone.

Piecyk had previously set his price target at $3.13, but noted that the stock now trades under five times BTIG's 2012 earnings estimate, which is below consensus. The firm notes that it is not moving to a Buy rating because Sprint's stock may fall further still, due to uncertain earnings, high debt leverage, lack of free cash flow and a worrisome 4G strategy.

The Galaxy R's screen, for instance, is a bit smaller (4.19 inches) and lesser in resolution (WVGA) compared to the S2 (4.3 inches, Super AMOLED).

Apple made Lion, its eighth major OS X release, available to Mac computer users on July 20th, and the Cupertino-based tech giant noted in the first sentence of its press release that Lion includes “more than 250 new features.” Unfortunately for a seemingly large group of users - this editor included - the only new features that really mattered were the numerous annoyances that came to light after just a few minutes of usage. The new autocorrect, the annoying new event behavior in iCal, the lack of key repeat, the bizarre defaults set throughout the OS… we could go on for quite a while.
