HTC M4 Might Be HTC First Sans Facebook Home

HTC M4 Might Be HTC First Sans Facebook Home

So, Facebook Home was announced yesterday morning, where that announcement was accompanied by the unveiling of the HTC First, the first smartphone on the Android front that will feature Facebook Home. Well, we have looked at the HTC M4 in the past, and somehow or rather, the name of this particular smartphone has crept up yet again – this time around, it has something to do with the HTC First. It seems that the HTC M4 could very well be a variant of the HTC First, except that this particular model will lack Facebook Home integration along with a slew of other social networking goodies.

Cablevision's Optimum for iPad App Starts Rolling Out Live TV Anywhere Update

Cablevision was one of the first U.S.-based cable providers to offer the ability for its customers to watch live TV on their mobile devices back in early 2011, but one of the annoying stipulations was you had to be at home in order to enjoy the experience. But starting today, Cablevision is throwing that stipulation out of the window as they have pushed out an update to its Optimum for iPad app to allow its customers to watch live TV anywhere they have an Internet connection.

Plants Used To Generate Hydrogen For Safe And Clean Energy

Plants Used To Generate Hydrogen For Safe And Clean Energy

So, we did read about how Denmark intends to glean up to 50% of their national energy needs from wind turbines alone in a few years' time. This is definitely a commendable effort, and are there any other kinds of green and eco-friendly ideas that the world could benefit from. Well, it seems that researchers have managed to generate hydrogen from any kind of plant, hence resulting in a safe, renewable energy solution. This particular solution was due to delving into a previous theory, where xylose, an abundant kind of sugar found in plants, is used to generate hydrogen.

Samsung WiFi-Only Galaxy Camera Announced

Samsung WiFi-Only Galaxy Camera Announced

Samsung has announced a more affordable version of its Galaxy Camera, a digital camera powered by Android 4.1 which offers higher the same communications and apps that modern Android smartphones enjoy, but with higher-end imaging capabilities. The first version of the Samsung Galaxy Camera could connect over 3G, a powerful but expensive option since you needed a monthly data plan. This second model only connects through WIFI and represents, in theory, substantial savings over the MSRP of the 3G version.

Wind Turbine Works Sans Blades

Wind Turbine Works Sans Blades

What you see above might be just a concept at this point in time, an idea that has yet to be tested and proven successful, but assuming it actually takes off in due time, it could very well prove to be one of the modern engineering marvels that the world should emulate, especially the Danes who seem to be extremely obsessed with clean energy. The image above depicts a wind turbine that works without any blades, and heck, in order to take things a little bit further, it does not even come with any moving parts.

iPhone 5S To Release In Summer, Production Begins This Quarter

According to a latest report, Apple is gearing up for iPhone 5S production this quarter. What this means is that the upcoming Apple flagship smartphone will be ready in time for a summer release, as previous rumors have been suggesting. The iPhone 5S is said to be similar in size and design to its predecessor, the iPhone 5. This is hardly surprising, as all iPhones with the ‘S' moniker have been aesthetically similar to the model they evolved from.

Volkswagen's De Silva says next Scirocco will be 'completely different'

Volkswagen's De Silva says next Scirocco will be 'completely different'

From our perspective, the reborn Volkswagen Scirocco is a handsome (if squat) little thing. Yet design-wise, it's always struck us as uncomfortably close to the Golf three-door hatchback with which it shares its basic underpinnings. That aesthetic kinship may be part of the reason why Volkswagen has steadfastly refused to import the Scirocco to North America, seeing as how the Golf doesn't regularly set the company's sales charts alight, and it's less expensive. But that visual similarity might be about to change, says Walter De Silva, who recently told Australia's Car Advice that, "It must be completely different...

LG Optimus G Pro Sells Over 500k Units In South Korea

The LG Optimus G Pro is not a smartphone that you are able to see commonly used in the US, simply because it has yet to be made available Stateside, being released just in their home country at this moment in time. Having said that, a relatively short run on the store shelves in South Korea has certainly proven to be a bountiful one, as LG has laid claim to a new sales record. It is said that the LG Optimus G Pro actually notched up a cool 10,000 orders at launch, which leads to the final figure of 500,000 units being sold in a matter of 40 days after launch.

Apple May Lose $13B In Sales Due To China's Propaganda

Apple May Lose $13B In Sales Due To China's Propaganda

China's state sponsored propaganda, now in its third week, against Apple has been widely reported. It would have a devastating effect on Apple's sales in China, to the tune of $13 billion, this according to Glen Yeung of Citi. Apple isn't the only foreign company that has been the target of such campaigns. Toshiba was targeted back in 1999, the campaign resulted in the company losing its spot as the largest notebook vendor in China. HP was hit in 2010, the result was a 50% decrease of their PC share in the country. If Apple loses up to 50% of its market share in China it would equate to a $13 billion loss in sales.
