Iron Man approves of the 2014 Audi R8

Iron Man approves of the 2014 Audi R8

Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, has been a pretty loyal R8 guy in the movies – there was a coupe in his garage in the original film, and he conspicuously rocked a V10 Spyder in the sequel. One notable dalliance with a prototype Acura NSX in The Avengers notwithstanding, Audi's supercar seems like Stark's go-to choice when he's not flying around, be-suited. The trend is set to continue in Iron Man 3, as well. Right as we were learning what Audi will be charging for a 2014 R8, this promo for the car and the movie has cropped up on YouTube. Called Canvas, the Audi spot is basically new R8 porn, peppered with movie quotes and shadowy clips.

IPEVO Perch Side Security Stand for iPad review

IPEVO Perch Side Security Stand for iPad review

. The IPEVO Perch Side Security Stand (shipped in safe but bland cardboard boxes) is a fixed height, adjustable orientation/angle, table/chair-side stand for your iPad (versions 2-4). You can opt for either the snap-in top or a secure top that locks the iPad in place and prevents access to the Home button, which makes this version useful for kiosk/display applications. This isn't a stand that's going to fit into most home use scenarios, but rather seems more interesting for a school/office/retail setting.

HTC One now available to pre-order from Sprint

Anyone interested in picking up the HTC One from Sprint can now pre-order the device for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. Sprint customers who are not eligible for an upgrade will have to shell out $549.99 for the device. Sprint isn't offering any pre-order specials like the HTC Media Link HD from AT&T or the HTC One car kit from T-Mobile, but new Sprint customers are being courted with Sprint's “Bring your number savings” of $100 for anyone who brings their number to Sprint on a new line of service. Add that to HTC's $100 trade-in offer and the Sprint HTC One will give you an extra penny in your piggy bank.

Fenix LD22 LED flashlight review

Fenix LD22 LED flashlight review

Several years ago, Julie reviewed the Fenix LD20 LED flashlight (see related links) which, for the most part, received a positive review. The only negative comment she gave involved how Fenix engineered its brightness/mode switching feature. With the LD20, you had to twist the cap to switch between modes. Well, it looks like their designers listened to Julie and fixed the one issue she had with the LD20. The LD22 is Fenix's follow-up to the LD20 with a bit more polish, horsepower (aka brightness), and a few added features as well.

The Audi Motorrad Is An Audi-Ducati Inspired Concept Motorbike

Back in 2012, Audi acquired Italian motorbike manufacturer Ducati under their Lamborghini arm, and with the acquisition, we guess it's only fair that many are wondering if Audi has plans to start manufacturing motorbikes of their own in the future. While that may or may not happen, or if Audi will be content to let Ducati continue what they are doing, some designers have come up with an interesting and sleek concept of what an Audi-manufactured motorbike might look like. Dubbed the Audi Motorrad, this concept was designed by Thibault and Marc Devauze, along with modeler Clement Couvreur.

Volvo promises new diesels, 8-speed auto

Pandora Reaches 200 Million User Milestone

Pandora Reaches 200 Million User Milestone

Pandora announced in May 2012 it had surpassed 150 million registered users, and nearly a year later, the company is announcing it has added 50 million more registered listeners to reach the 200 million user milestone. Pandora's streaming-radio service launched back in 2005, which makes this milestone quite the accomplishment considering they've been at it for 8 years now. It was at their six-year mark where they reached 100 million mark, which also shows just how fast their growth has been lately as it only took two years for the company to hit an additional 100 million users.

Sol Voltaics Announces Breakthrough Use Of Nanotechnology That Helps Make Solar Cells 25% More Efficient

Sustainability and going green seems to be the buzz words commonly used these days amongst corporations, although there are limitations to sustainable technology that make it less appealing than its traditional counterpart. For example electric vehicles that not only have a considerable shorter range than their petrol counterparts, but the time it takes to charge an electric vehicle and the availability of chargers makes it a bit inconvenient.

Microsoft Files Complaint Against Google's Android To European Commission Claiming Anti-Competitiveness

With the way Google is dominating the smartphone market with their Android platform, we guess their competitors such as Microsoft and Blackberry are left in the dust, leaving them none too happy about it. While Blackberry might be seeing a surge in sales, possibly due to their reputation from before, Windows Phone has yet to see massive rates of adoption and perhaps looking for a way to slow the Android behemoth down and play catch up, Microsoft has filed a formal complaint against Google to the European Commission on Google's anti-competitive strategy with their Android dominance.

Drive-thru prank guy loses his head

Drive-thru prank guy loses his head

Never underestimate how much fun can be had by tricking drive-thru workers into believing you're actually a decapitated corpse. That old chestnut just never gets tired. YouTube user MagicofRahat is back at it again, tormenting fast-food workers with a bit of light-hearted fun. While we've seen him pull all sorts of pranks in the past, including pretending to pass out in the drive through, using a scary doll in the driver's seat and simply pretending like there's no one driving the car, this is probably his best stunt to date.
The premise is simple enough.

Honda and Acura render their future visions for Shanghai

With the Shanghai Motor Show coming up later this month, Honda has released a couple of teaser sketches for two concept vehicles that will be making global debuts. Aside from the renderings, there is no information about either the Honda or Acura concept vehicles, but we can tell that both are some sort of utility vehicle, be they of crossover or people-mover variety. The text for both images indicates that both concepts show future products that will be launched in China, but there is no mention as to what other markets the automaker has planned for these vehicles.

US Cellular Launches Promotion To Let Customers Try Its Network Before Signing Up

US Cellular Launches Promotion To Let Customers Try Its Network Before Signing Up

We've heard of being able to try products out before buying it, and it seems that in a bid to attract new subscribers to its network, US Cellular is allowing customers to try out their service before committing themselves. We're guessing since US Cellular isn't part of the major four carriers in the US, this will no doubt be one of the ways to help attract customers who might be otherwise apprehensive about the smaller carrier's ability to compete with the larger networks.

Boeing Finishes 787 Dreamliner New Battery Certification Testing

Boeing's troubles with the battery system on its latest 787 Dreamliner aircraft have been well documented. Back in January the global fleet of 50 Dreamliner aircraft was grounded due to incidents caused by the batteries overheating. The manufacturer had been testing a new lithium-ion battery system and it is finally done with the certification testing process. The certification demonstration flight was completed on a line number 86 Dreamliner, a production airplane owned by Boeing and built for LOT Polish Airlines. The test flight had a crew of 11 on board which included two representatives of the Federal Aviation Authority.
