Facelifted Kia Sorento caught completely undisguised

We've seen a couple sets of spy shots starring the next-generation Kia Sorento crossover, but thanks to the folks at Kia-World.net, we now have our first clear glimpse of the CUV's new fascia sans camouflage. It's certainly not a radical departure from the Sorento that was once touted as Kia's best-selling vehicle in the United States, but we must say, it's handsome. The refreshed Sorento uses a headlight and grille design that mimics the attractive Optima sedan, though when combined with upright foglamps flanking either side of the lower fascia, the whole package is looks more refined and upscale rather than sporty and aggressive.

Kanye West doesn't know his Lamborghini models

Regardless of how you (or we) feel about Kanye West's music, factual errors are factual errors. And that's exactly why we're posting this music video of Kanye's new single, "Mercy.". Or is that, "Murci?" As in, Murciélago.
Kanye apparently things so, specifically saying "Murci-lago" a couple of times throughout the song. But look closely: That black Lamborghini featured in the back of the video? It's a Gallardo. The smaller headlamp clusters are a dead giveaway.

Patent reveals Microsoft's detachable dual display technology

. Documentation regarding a recently published patent from Microsoft highlights a new invention for a dual display smartphone that can separate into two functional units, Patent Bolt reported on Friday. The software giant's patent could take the hassle out of sharing a screen - literally - with another person. Rather than being crammed in front of one screen, the smartphone's display could be split in two, allowing each viewer to watch his or her own display. The technology could also be used in a situation where a user needs to talk on a smartphone and browse data simultaneously without the need for a headset or a loudspeaker.

How GM got 3 more miles out of the 2013 Chevrolet Volt

As we learned earlier today, the 2013 Chevrolet Volt has beefed up. The new model year vehicle has a "bigger" battery and can go three extra miles when driven solely on the battery. We spoke with GM representatives to get more information on the model year updates as well as answers to some of your questions (e.g., don't expect E85 capability, once promised for the first-gen Volt, any time soon). Volt chief engineer Andrew Farah said there is a reason that the focus today was on the car's improved all-electric range: It was the number one request from customers.

Unfortunately this was not the case thus leaving many to speculate that these next-gen consoles would instead arrive in 2013. While that remains to be seen as far as Sony's PlayStation console goes, it might not be the case for the Xbox platform. Speaking to the folks at GameSpot, Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer was quoted as saying, “Right now the Xbox 360 is really healthy and it's doing incredibly well. The Sony DSC-RX100 Might be my Next Travel Camera

Last week I was on vacation up in Michigan and took a brand new camera that I had purchased especially for the trip with me only to figure out that it was too bulky to carry around. The Olympus OM-D EM-5 is a fantastic mirrorless camera if you don't mind the size and weight. I did. So I ended up using my iPhone for most of the trip. When I got back home, I sold the Olympus and another mirrorless camera I had recently purchased (Sony NEX-7) and decided to just be happy with my iPhone… at least till my next vacation this Fall.

If you've been around long enough, you might have at some point owned or have seen the old Macintosh laptops. They were big and chunky and were monochromatic. However if the monochromatic theme is one that you miss or one that you'd like to recreate, designer Ben Vessey has recently released the Mac OS (Old School) mod that basically transforms your Mac computer into a retro looking one that is reminiscent of the good old days. This mod contains a set of 21 icons and wallpaper and is relatively easy to install. If you've ever messed around with your Mac OS X icons in the past, then swapping out your icons should be a simple task.

First released  in August 2011, Google Play carried the Samsung ChatON messaging app since October 2011, while the iOS version of Samsung ChatON was introduced earlier this year.

Corning unveils slim, flexible Willow Glass

That is not plastic in the image above, it's glass. In particular it's a sheet of Corning's new 100-micron-thick Willow Glass, a new ultra-thin and flexible substrate for LCDs and OLEDs. The extreme thinness of the glass should lead to lighter, svelter devices, but it also means that shape is no longer a barrier for design. In fact, Corning expects Willow Glass will eventually lead substrates to be manufactured “roll-to-roll” instead of “sheet-to-sheet” — similar to how newspapers are printed. Even though the glass is as thin as paper (literally) it doesn't give up its patented Corning toughness.

. Although the average web user won't notice a difference, Wednesday marks a major milestone in the history of the Internet. Several major ISPs and tech companies have officially enabled IPv6 addresses for their products and services, including AT&T, Google, Facebook, Cisco, Comcast and Yahoo. For the uninitiated, IPv6 is a next-generation Internet layer protocol that was designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to create a virtually limitless number of new IP addresses once the world had run out of addresses on the most widely-used Internet layer protocol, IPv4.

The SATA 6Gbps drive doesn't have any special tricks up its sleeves, but there's no doubt that it fits just about any ultrabook category: capacities swing from a very modest 32GB to a 512GB drive meant to take over from ho-hum spinning disks.

Sprint pulls iDEN handsets from retail, continues to sunset legacy Nextel network

With only 24 days to go before iDEN bites the big one, Sprint's making sure subscribers steer clear of devices that run on the legacy service. The aging tech, famous for its walkie talkie-like feature, is now one foot solidly in the grave as the carrier's removed all compatible handsets from its lineup, as well as subsidiary Boost Mobile's. That those particular phones and accompanying network have reached a grand EOL status should come as no surprise - the operator's been quite public about plans to shift existing push-to-talk subs to its newer CDMA-based DirectConnect service and clear up spectrum for a planned LTE rollout.
