More Nexus 7 Details Leaked

When it comes to Google's next generation Nexus 7 device, it seems that more and more details are starting to be divulged to the general populace. In fact, just a few days back, there were some leaked photos that seem to point to the next generation Nexus 7 arriving in due time – next week, to be exact, for $269 a pop with 32GB of internal memory. Sounds affordable. Sure, but it would also mean costing $20 more compared to the existing model, so it remains to be seen whether the additional $20 spent will be worth every penny.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 To Head Straight For Android 4.3 Update

We did read about how the unofficial Android 4.3 build has been leaked out for the Nexus 4, and here we are with information concerning the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, touting that this particular phablet would see the Android 4.3 operating system update headed straight for it, which means it will skip the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean bus along the way. Apparently, Australian carrier Telstra did pick up a confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4G model will give the Android 4.2.2 update a miss, where it will hitch a ride to Android 4.3 instead.

See why one man's passion for Porsche's 911 is a German thing

You'll often hear Porsche 911 owners say the same thing about how they ended up buying one: They could never forget the feeling they experienced during their first ride. Top-flight Porsche restorer John Willhoit will comment on how the rear-engine layout gives the 911 its unique handling and plenty of room in the interior, but he'll also tell you that, after his first ride in one, he was hooked. Willhoit's 1971 Pastel Blue 911T wasn't his first Porsche; it was a one-owner basketcase parked outside his sister's neighbor's garage when he found it 20 years ago.

New Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor coming next week - maybe the Galaxy Note III will use it

Samsung has let the world know that it's going to officially announce a new version of its Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor. Unfortunately, the company hasn't unveiled too many details about this - other than the fact that the new CPU will be "more powerful" and "enhanced." So we'll have to wait a bit until we find out exactly what the new chipset has to offer. After the new Exynos 5 Octa is announced, Samsung will kick off a contest on Twitter, dubbed "#ExynosEvolved Twitter giveaway." Some lucky folks will win "brand new, Exynos-powered devices." More details will be unveiled next week.

Blackberry Messenger for Android to arrive by end of September, but does anyone care?

When Blackberry Messenger for Android was announced, we were pretty excited. It wasn't necessarily because BBM is still this great, mystical messaging service that only a few select people had access to, but because we'd finally be able to chat with our friends who were too stubborn to drop Blackberry. The release date was initially set for “this summer,” but we might have a tighter idea of what that means. According to Indian publication IBN Live, Blackberry India's managing director Sunil Lalvani has pegged Blackberry's release date by the end of September.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Gets 'M' Rating

I have played through a variety of Phoenix Wright games on the Nintendo DS in the past, and those have proved to be worth every single penny that I forked out for the cart, as it provided hours of entertainment, without having to crunch lots of graphics along the way. Having said that, those with the Nintendo 3DS and have not yet given the original Phoenix Wright series a go, might want to check out Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies – although it has been slapped with the ESRB rating of “M” for Mature content, so anyone who is not 18 and older are not meant to play it.

Euro car sales plummet to two-decade low

Just three months ago, as of April, the story was that the European car market registered its first gain in 19 months, consumer confidence was up "higher than average" and observers were hoping the month could be the first footstep in the trek to "legitimate recovery," even though Europe's four-month sales were down seven percent. The stats for June are a return to dark portents, with Bloomberg now reporting that sales for the month haven't been this bad since 1993. As a result, investor confidence in Germany has taken a dive and Eurozone exports have fallen for a second straight month.

HP announced its Split x2 Windows 8 hybrid computer back in May, saying it would be available in August. The bad news is. well, we lied. There really is no bad news here as the Split x2 has launched prior to its expected August release.

The HP Split x2 is a follow up of their previously released Envy X2ร‚ which we found to be a pretty good hybrid, as long as its performance was good enough to keep up with what you'd be using it for.

Even by the 'anything-goes' standards of concept cars, this one is a head-spinner: the "Pure Tension" Volvo V60 Pavilion, commissioned by Volvo Italy and winner of the Pure Volvo Pavilion Design competition. The alien form seen hovering all over the rendered V60 is a pavilion, as in the kind erected for trade shows or outdoor events. Developed by Synthesis Design + Architecture, Buro Happold, and Fabric Images, the pavilion is a flexible mesh structure held in place by a carbon fiber rods.

Kia Soul to get AWD?

Kia Soul to get AWD?

The funky Kia Soul is one of the three affordable, efficient and style-first boxes on sale today (along with the Scion xB and Nissan Cube). Like its competition, it sits atop a front-drive platform with a longitudinally mounted four-cylinder engine. It's a dandy car in this setup, but it sounds like Kia may be looking to differentiate the Soul from the herd by offering an optional all-wheel-drive system in the future.

Perp steals cop car from back seat, makes dangerous getaway

In an episode that wouldn't have been out of place on Reno 911!, a man that was on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both, was picked up by police for stealing a pickup truck, and managed to wriggle out of his handcuffs and steal the police cruiser he was being held inside. The entire fiasco, which took place last month near Salt Lake City, can be seen on the cruiser's in-car cameras. The suspect, Gordon Graham, took advantage of the officers' inattentiveness while they were searching his truck, contorting about so his hands were in front of him, and then wiggling out of the cuffs.

Volkswagen Taigun going into production, but not for US

Volkswagen Taigun going into production, but not for US

We last mentioned the Volkswagen Taigun when discussing the subcompact crossover that Volkswagen will be bringing to the US in 2016. Well, turns out the Taigun won't be that crossover, but it is going into production for other markets outside the US according to a report in Autoweek. Based on the same platform as the Up!, the Taigun is two size classes – not one – beneath the Tiguan, and is seen by VW as lacking the dimensions and power that the US crossover brigades demand. It's the same reasoning that will probably keep the Ford EcoSport, a Taigun competitor, from coming here.

e-David Robot Does Art

e-David Robot Does Art

I am not quite sure about you, but when you have a robot that does what we call as "art", does it really qualify that way. Art needs to have a purpose and a meaning, it does not just exist just because. After all, that is the way the world is wired – everything has a purpose, and for the "artist" to conjure a piece without any explanation is just plain irresponsible. If that were to be the case, you can just splash some paint randomly on a piece of canvas and tell anyone who looks at it to call it whatever they want, and walk away.

The 2014 Lexus IS sedan has been turning heads and dividing public opinion since we first drove it. Then, as now, we knew that a revamped IS F would be in the offing at some point, but until today we had know idea what form the Lexus would take. Our first ever batch of 2015 Lexus IS F spy shots has just come across the transom, and the camouflaged coupe – that's right, there are just two doors this time out – is awfully intriguing at first glance. A much more aggressive front end is prominent, as is the slinky roofline that finishes in a pert rear end.

Deus Ex: The Fall Jailbreak Restriction To Be Removed Via Update

Deus Ex: The Fall Jailbreak Restriction To Be Removed Via Update

We reported on Friday that Deus Ex: The Fall would not allow jailbroken iOS devices to fire guns. iOS devices are usually jailbroken to open up a world of customization that would otherwise not be possible on stock iOS. On the other hand, some users jailbreak their devices to install pirated apps that they don't want to pay for. The move seemed to have been made to curb piracy of this game, but given the outcry from users, the publishers of Deus Ex have decided to switch this off.
Square Enix, the publishers, have also issued an apology, saying that they hadn't stated clearly from the start that Deus Ex would not support jailbroken devices.
