Urwerk UR 1001 Pocket Watch

Urwerk UR 1001 Pocket Watch

Pocket watches nowadays are not as popular as they were before. With other gadgets and devices now able to provide people with time, having a pocket watch only seems to be something sort of a weighty addition to what one brings along. They somehow may have been relegated to a collectors item this time. And boy, how makers like Urwerk have made them into something more than just a collector's item. Simply looking at the new Urwerk UR 1001 Pocket Watch will make it all clear.

The new Urwerk UR 1001 is more than just any ordinary pocket watch. Yes, it tells its owner the time and date. But it also does more.

MobileEdge ScanFast 2.0 Bag Review

MobileEdge ScanFast 2.0 Bag Review

(this is a 2nd opinion review of bag that we featured last year). I really hate flying.  I've never been a big fan.   I hate the high prices, the long lines, the rules, the regulations, the baggage fees, what you can carry on and what you can't carry on.  Honestly, I wonder if it isn't just easier to drive.

But since sometimes driving is out of the question, I either have to fly or take the train and either way, I have to go through TSA checkpoints.

Let me make something clear:  I don't try to sneak stuff on planes that I'm not supposed to have.  I obey the rules.

Foxconn to ship 20M iPads to Apple in Q3 2011

The third quarter of the year will see Foxconn deliver up to 20 million iPads (when we mention iPads these days, obviously we're talking about the iPad 2 and not its predecessor), at least that is what Taiwan-based DigiTimes claims. It seems that Apple's iPad orders will drive growth for Foxconn in the second half of 2011, and the 20 million figure is definitely a huge one, even more so in a single quarter. The June quarter saw Apple deliver sales of 9.25 million iPads, which will be less than less than 50% of what Foxconn claims it will ship to Apple when September rolls around.

Facebook rumored to launch a music service next month

According to reports online, it looks like Facebook has plans to launch its own music service next month. Apparently a CNBC technology correspondent, Jon Fortt, mentioned that his sources have informed him "that Facebook plans to launch its long rumored music service at the f8 conference on September 22nd. Now, it seems likely that Facebook won't actually host the music, but will partner with others to do that.". Other than that semi-vague statement, we don't have much information to work with, but it shouldn't be too long until we find out, since September 22nd is only a few weeks away.

I really do wish I could travel more. The dark forces of the world won't allow me to break away as often as I'd like to, but I imagine having an app to book all of my travel needs would make it that much easier to just say “yes” (though I'm sure it won't be as easy on my wallet). When are we going to get one app for all services, though. Car rentals, planes and hotels – I want it all. And more than that, I want the ability to complete and pay for my reservation right within the app.

You see, if you lay it out all in front of me within one easy app, I'd be more inclined to book.
