Razer Tiamat 7.1 delayed again, may even become a vaporware?

The so-called first true 7.1 surround sound headset is inching towards vaporware status. Razer's Tiamat 7.1 was originally supposed to land sometime in Q4 of 2011 but, as the holiday season approached, the company regretfully informed potential customers that the gaming gear would not ship until the end of January. Well, it's the 31st and the Tiamat is still nowhere in sight. In fact, Razer just issued yet another notice of delay on its blog.
The company promises it'll ship the headset in February, but having been burned once already, we're wondering who is still holding out hope of getting their pale button mashers on a set.

Chevy Silverado takes shot at Ford in apocalyptic Super Bowl ad

Chevy Silverado takes shot at Ford in apocalyptic Super Bowl ad

Chevrolet continues its onslaught of Super Bowl ads released before this Sunday's big game, clearly hoping that volume plays in its favor when the points are tallied by marketing analysts on Monday. Today's commercial, entitled "2012," stars the Chevrolet Silverado in a post-apocalyptic world. In this ad, Chevy reminds us of its oft-repeated statistic that its trucks are the longest lasting, most dependable trucks on the road, and it does so by imagining that the Mayans were right and that 2012 is our last year on Earth.

Ferrari F1 launch snowed out in Maranello

If you grew up in a sufficiently northern climate, you probably remember staying eagerly tuned in to the local radio or television station, praying on a cold day that enough snow would have fallen for them to close the schools. Well that's what's happened in the Modena area in northern Italy, but while the school children may be celebrating in their jammies, the racing fans among them will be disappointed to learn that the snow has caused the launch of the latest Scuderia Ferrari single-seater to be canceled.

French court fines Google France 500,000 euros for gratis Maps

A Parisian commercial court has upheld a lower court's ruling against Google France, ordering the company to pay a fine of €500,000 for giving away its maps services. The plaintiff, Bottin Cartographes, claims that Google leveraged the market share of its Maps platform — and the fact that it's free — to undercut and stifle competition attempting to sell their topographical wares to businesses. “We proved the illegality of [Google's] strategy,” said Bottin's counsel, noting that this was the first time Google has been convicted of malfeasance for this particular piece of software in the country.

This is what riding in an F1 car is like with loose seatbelts and no HANS Device

Riding shotgun in a two-seater race car at speed is a lot of fun – trust us on this – but this video is headache inducing. And scary. Seems like the pit crew on hand at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi was so concerned with starting the camera and setting its white balance that they didn't bother checking to see whether the passenger's safety harness was tight enough. And it clearly wasn't.
You'll notice in the screenshot above that the passenger's helmet appears to be striking the bulkhead in front of her, which is definitely not supposed to happen.

. The Munich Regional Court in Germany on Wednesday rejected Apple's request to ban Samsung's local subsidiaries from selling the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone and Galaxy Tab 10.1N tablet. “Samsung has shown that it is more likely than not that the patent will be revoked because of a technology that was already on the market before the intellectual property had been filed for protection," Judge Andreas Mueller said. In September, Samsung's local retailer arm was banned from selling the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet but the South Korea-based company skirted the ban by released a tweaked device called the Galaxy Tab 10.1N.

Samsung Galaxy S3 with flexible display spotted?

What you see above has been speculated by some to be the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone which will be announced sometime later this year (instead of at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of this month), although the form factor looks really weird. A foldable display does seem most likely in the model above, and if that were to be true, such a prototype would certainly set tongues wagging. After all, no phones to date have a flexible display, and this would definitely send plenty of attention Samsung's way when released.

Redesigned BlackBerry London leaks, will be the world's first BlackBerry 10 smartphone

Back in November of last year we saw the first purported picture of the BlackBerry smartphone codenamed London, that was going to be the company's first smartphone running BBX, the next generation operating system inspired by the QNX powering the PlayBook. More than two months have passed, and many things have changed since then. First of all, BBX got rebranded to BlackBerry OS 10 because of some trademark issues, and the BlackBerry London seems to have lost its initial design very reminiscent of that seen in the Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9981.
What you can see above is how the London looks now, apparently.

Apple certainly knows how to set a trend, and while Samsung might have received their latest blow in Germany and in Europe where court rulings are concerned, the South Korean company might have just irked Apple executives further by introducing an engraving service for each purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Note. Yes, I know, engraving your device (an Apple) is nothing new, but for Samsung to introduce something like this might just trigger more sales of the Galaxy Note than expected. Sure makes it far harder for a thief to sell a stolen device, is it not.
