Amazon announces Apple-like GameCircle for Kindle Fire [video]

. Amazon on Wednesday announced a new social gaming service called GameCircle for its Kindle Fire tablet. The app, which features gaming achievements and leaderboards, is similar to Apple's Game Center on its iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. GameCircle can also automatically save a player's in-game progress to the cloud and allow them to pick-up exactly where they left off. “Our goal is to give developers great tools to quickly and easily reach new customers and keep them engaged. That's why we're creating easy-to-integrate APIs for features like leaderboards, achievements and sync.
