. T-Mobile on Wednesday announced that former Global Crossing CEO John Legere would take over as its new chief executive. René Obermann, the CEO of T-Mobile parent company Deutsche Telekom, said that Legere's chief responsibilities would be “expanding network coverage and initiating LTE service” over the next year. T-Mobile, which has long languished as America's number-four wireless carrier, is preparing to launch its LTE network in 2013 and is jockeying with Sprint (S) to become the go-to carrier for users who want unlimited data plans.
