Google To Discontinue Their “I'm Feeling Lucky” Button?

When Google first made its appearance on the web, what separated it from the other search engines was their “I'm Feeling Lucky” button which was designed to provide a more efficient way of searching for things by bringing them to the website most relevant to their search results, as opposed to users having to sift their way through pages of search results trying to find what they're looking for. The button was a by-product of the confidence that Google had in the superiority of their search engine over their competition, as was mentioned in Steven Levy's book, “In The Plex”.

DirecTV germ-free remote controls for hotel rooms

We all know that hotel staff do their best to clean up the rooms after every guest checks out, but there's still quite a large number of people who are worried about its cleanliness when checking in to a hotel. The folks over at DirectTV recognize this issue and are working on solving the problem. The company has announced that its new Residential Experience service will change bring the home living room experience into the hotel room, with over 100 HD TV channels so you can just focus on watching videos and not have to worry about how clean or dirty a room is.

Seesmic abandons support for the BlackBerry operating system

Poor RIM. After reporting financial losses and poor sales for its recent quarterly report, product delays, upset shareholders and consumers; the company hasn't exactly been having a ball of a time lately. Now, it looks like even developers are beginning to turn their backs on RIM's BlackBerry operating system. Seesmic, one of the most popular third party Twitter client developers has officially announced that it will no longer be supporting BlackBerry, effective June 30th.

LG Machjet LPP6010N: “World's Fastest Printer”

LG has just announced what the company calls the “fastest desktop printer in the world”. I'm not 100% sure that it's the case, but it's the first commercial printer that I've seen using the Memjet technology, so this claim may be true. If you are not familiar with Memjet, it's a company that has developed a high-end printing technology that ultra-fast. How do they do it. While most inkjet printers have hundreds of nozzles that deliver dots of ink to the paper, Memjet manages to have 70,000 nozzles that deliver 700 million drops of inks per second.
