Amazon China pulled iPad due to lack of authority, not over trademark battle

We were led to believe that the ongoing trademark battle over the iPad name between Apple and Proview had led to Amazon yanking the iPad offline to avoid any legal trouble with Proview. This was also in the wake of Chinese authorities seizing iPads from retailers, but as it turns out, Amazon China had removed the iPad from its website because they lacked the proper authority to sell them.
