China closes rumor microblogs in continuing crackdown

In a move that follows on last month's shutdown of 16 rumor-spreading websites, microblogging site Sina Weibo said it closed four high-profile accounts that created and promoted rumors. All affected rumors apparently relate to Bo Xilai, who recently suggested that a political coup may be imminent. For example, writer Li Delin discussed on his Weibo account that military vehicles were seen in Beijing. Sina Weibo said that it has handed over the four accounts to the police and Li Delin reportedly disappeared.
