If you own an LG Optimus S, be happy. You're about to receive a pretty big software update. No, it's not Ice Cream Sandwich. That one your phone will almost certainly never get (officially, at least). No, this is good old Android Gingerbread we're talking about.
Sure, it may already be obsolete, but then again the Android 2.2 Froyo that's currently powering your Optimus S is even more so. Which makes this a welcome update, despite the fact that it should have happened one year ago.
Speaking of that, Sprint actually started rolling this out in September. Yes, September 2011.
